Hello SJSC Families,
SJSC is required to hold yearly tryouts for players registering for the coming seasonal teams per our MSYSA affiliation.
Most players will stay with their current teams and progress with them to the next age group level. Only in rare instances will a player change teams due to age or skill level, because they were playing up or they were rostered on an team due no age appropriate team for them before. Please remember that all players have the ability to play up 2 age levels if the coach and parents agree to this type of scenario.
Tryouts also give coaches the ability to test or compare new players to our club to those existing player’s skill levels helping to determine appropriate placement on a team.
Last year we did not have tryouts due to Covid-19. This year we are getting back to our normal procedures as well looking to build our club stronger and adding skill and development potential to our teams so players are successful and build confidence.
There will be a make-up tryout date on June 23, 2021 at 6:30 PM and special arrangements can be made with individual coaches/teams if the need arises.
Thank you,
Randy Padgett – SJSC
