The Redwings varsity soccer team took on the Charlotte Orioles at home on Thursday night. The Redwings controlled much of the action in the first half but were unable to get many scoring chances. The lone score came from the Orioles on a breakaway by #5, Jaelyn Baker. (0-1 at the half)
In the second half, it was all Redwings. #16 Georgia Fromson got the scoring started with the Redwings first goal, assisted by a great center pass by #15, Paige Jubeck. (1-1 37:46 remaining)
With 25 minutes left in the game, #14, Avery Karber’s missile corner kick found the back of the net and the Redwings took the lead 2-1. (2-1 25:00 remaining)
Moments later, #5 Josie Stehlik scored the final goal with the second assist of the night for #15, Paige Jubeck. (3-1 23:17 remaining.
Final: Redwings 3 – Orioles 1
The Redwings have won two straight to get back to 3-3 on the season. Next up will be the Holt Rams on the road tomorrow (Saturday May 1st). Lets Go Redwings!
