Hello SJSC Families and Players,
Here are the updates as I know them currently –
There was a Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) Meeting last Friday, 8/21/2020 and a Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) Board meeting last Sunday, 8/23/2020.
From those two meetings, this is where we stand for Fall 2020 soccer-
Update from MSYSA –
- MSYSA is still planning game play starting Sept. 15; CASL starts after this date on Sept. 19.
- Our start dates are the following –
- Practices begin for all teams – 09/01/2020
- Games schedules will start – 09/19/2020
- As of today, we are still not allowed to practice/train with contact.
- If our start date must move later than Sept. 30, CASL may try for a 4-game season in October.
- Williamston, Eaton Rapids & Bath clubs have decided not to play the Fall 2020 season.
- CASL has 174 teams (2/3 of regular numbers) registered for the Fall 2020 season.
- Divisions will be more geographically set & smaller divisions used to limit possible COVID exposure.
Team coaches will contact all families this week via email about practices, uniform ordering if needed, and associated details for the coming Fall season.
We are hopeful that favorable changes will be announced by the Governor this week.
Thank you,
Randy Padgett
