The Redwings traveled to Holt Thursday (diving prelims), Friday (swim prelims) and Saturday (swim/dive finals) for the CAAC Blue Championship meet. There were too many new best swims to count, congratulations Redwings!
If you are new to swimming/diving, athletes swim/dive prelims to qualify for the finals (top 8), b finals (top 16) or c finals (top 24). A swimmer or diver must qualify for the finals to finish in the top 8.

Koy Grams finished 2nd in the 100 breastroke with a new PR and a State Cut qualifying time, but was disqualified for a rolling start. Koy will qualify for states on Tuesday at the second shave last chance meet at Grand Ledge.
Shane Van Able had our performance of the meet with a new PR and state qualifying time in the 50 freestyle (22.90) as well as a 3rd place finish in the 100 free that was just off the state qualifying time. Shane will qualify in the 100 on Tuesday at the second shave meet.
The Medley relay posted a time that was 4 tenths of a second off a state qualifying time. Shane, Max, Koy and Preston will qualify for states on Tuesday at the second shave meet.
Several swimmers were just outside the top 16. Make sure to view the full results for all the preliminary and finals times. Congratulations to James Davis, Josh Fromson, Charlie Boak and Graham Harger for their top 24 performances.
Sebastian Luce had a great prelim meet posting new PR’s and in the 200 IM (2:20.12) and 100 Backstroke(1:02.03). He qualified for the b finals in both events but was unable to compete on Saturday.
Parker Beebee finished a strong 8th in his first season of diving and will compete in Thursday’s Regionals at SJHS.
