The Capital City Capitals made their 2021 return to home ice late Friday night and came away with the 4-0 victory.  The Capitals are a co-op combining athletes from St. Johns, Dewitt, Lansing Catholic and Mason.  Four Redwings are on the roster this season, defenseman Evan Martinez (9), defenseman Logan Johnson (11), center/wing Coye Ojibway (12) and defenseman Logan Dunham (11).

The scoring started with a late first period goal by #4 Grant Uyl (Dewitt) from #2 Shaun Stevens (Dewitt).  #5 Logan Johnson’s (St. Johns) breakaway goal in the 2nd put the Caps up 2-0.  The assist was from center #17 Michael LeTarte of LCHS.  LeTarte added his own goal in the third and #7 Coye Ojibway (St. Johns) added the final goal.

Two goals and the Redwing defenseman assisted in goalie Janek Levendowski’s (#30 LCHS) shutout.  It was a great night to be a Capitals fan.  Go Redwings!
