Game 1 – SJ 5 Owosso 4

Maddy Robinson had 2 hits, 2 RBI, 2 stolen bases and scored 2 runs to lead SJ to a close 5-4 win over Owosso. Kennedy Larrison also had 2 hits and Madison Helms had a triple and scored a run for SJ. Kate Patterson pitched 5 innings and struck 6 Owosso hitters, only giving up 3 hits. St. Johns improves to 4-1 on the season with the victory.

Game 2 – Owosso 7 SJ 6

The Redwings fell behind early 7-1 before mounting a comeback that ultimately fell short in a 7-6 loss to Owosso. Bella Sharick and Olivia Campbell each had 2 hits for SJ, with Sharick adding 2 RBI. Madison Helms also contributed 3 stolen bases and scored 2 runs. Karissa Greider took the loss for SJ, stiking out 3 batters in 3 innings pitched. The Redwings made a furious attempt at a comeback, scoring 5 runs in the last inning to bring them within 1 run of tying the score. With 2 runners on and 2 outs, Karissa Greider hit a fly ball down the left field line that the Owosso LF made a nice running catch on to end the game. SJ drops to 4-2 on the season.
