2nd Round Playoff Game Capital City Capitals vs Okemos Chiefs
Munn Ice Arena 3/18/21
The Capital City Capitals had a strong opening period, leading 1-0 at the end of the first. In the second period, penalties got the best of the Capitals as Okemos scored three goals to take a 3-1 lead into the third period. A goal midway through the third got the Caps to within one, but it was followed up quickly by another Okemos goal.
Down 4-2, the Caps pulled the goalie and scored with less than a minute left. Defenseman Logan Dunham held the puck in the zone one last time, but the last attempt to tie missed the net. With five seconds left, Okemos scored the final empty net goal, making the final score 5-3.
The Capitals finish the season 9-7. Thank you Capitals and Coach DeLong for the hospitality. It was a great season to watch. Go Capitals!
